My name is Sam Lax® and I am the Founder and Operating Manager of the SALA-GROUP. Having been on this planet we refer to as Mother Earth for over three quarters of a century, I’ve developed a few opinions regarding this and that.

There are no inherent meanings in our lives--and that is a positive thing. It's your choice, the meanings are up to you. The only meanings are the ones you create.

Friends like Victor Gassman (formerly president of Liz Claiborne Cosmetics in New York City) and Michael Jacobs (internationally-acclaimed photojournalist/historian), to mention but two, have suggested for quite some time: “Sam, if you’ve got so much to say about so many different subjects, why don’t you create yet another web site and express your opinions? Create a chat room to get others’ opinions, etc.” OK — that’s what I’m doing. Enjoy!

When I was a young (very young) man, many years ago, my mother Lillian would implore me to practice the piano. There were those who thought I was a child prodigy and wanted me to play as well as (or better than) our neighbor, John Browning (who went on to become an RCA recording star). But would I practice? No – I was too busy catching bugs and keeping snakes in the garage. Had I practiced, like my mother asked me to, I’d no doubt have been able to play like this.
