May You Be Blessed is a short flash presentation currently being passed around the internet by emailers the world over.  Officially launched on January 21, 2006, along with the One Million Blessings Experiment it inspired, both are the brainchild of writer/coach Kate Nowak.

Filled with inspiring words and backed by beautiful images and relaxing music, the four-and-a-half-minute movie was created, Nowak said, after she woke early one morning with the words, “May you be blessed” running through her head.

Grabbing notebook and pen, Nowak said she began jotting down the thoughts streaming into her mind and in less than fifteen minutes the entire script for the movie was written.  Nowak added that she believes the words were divinely inspired, given to her in answer to a prayer uttered three years before.

“About three years ago, I sent a short inspirational movie I’d found on the internet to my father, who had just been diagnosed with cancer.  I can’t remember the name of the movie, or even where I found it, but I do remember that it touched him deeply.  I was so grateful that he had been helped, and I remember praying that whatever talents I possessed might also be used to create something that would benefit others the way that one movie had benefited him,” Nowak said.

“Looking back now,” she added, “I realize the first seed of the movie was planted the moment I issued that prayer.”

Since the launch of the movie, Nowak says she has received hundreds of letters from all over the world.  “I feel so blessed when people take the time to write and tell me they have been touched by the movie or the Heartfelt Blessings messages sent out daily to those who choose to take part in the experiment.  Each blessing being sent out by the movie and messages is being returned to me a thousandfold.”

Nowak said she thought of the One Million Blessing Experiment as she was creating the movie.  “I began thinking of how wonderful it would be if one million or more people saw the movie and were touched by it.  I knew I couldn’t do it by myself, but if one person sends it to ten people who send it to ten people who send it to ten people. . . well you get the idea.  Then it becomes a possibility and I am a great believer in possibilities.  I would really like for it to happen in the first 100 days.  That would mean one million blessings in one hundred days.  I love to think about that happening.”

“In my mind,” she added, “I see it as one candle being lit by another and then in turn lighting another until the glow of a million candles lights up the world.  One million people all feeling better about themselves.  One million people all being blessed.  It’s a wonderful image and one I play often in my mind.  With the help of others, perhaps it will soon be a reality.”

Sam feels that regardless of your belief, or non-belief, in a superior power, this is a wonderful way to spend less than five minutes of your time and that just being able to share Kate’s One Million Blessings Experiment is a blessing within itself.
